Barb Thomas M.Ed., C.S.E., JSOC: Barb has 35 years of teaching experience, and for the past 16 has been Director of TECS Education Center (Thomas Educational Consulting Services).
Under Barb's Direction, TECS offers Education with a focus on Social Skills Development and Healthy Sexuality in the following ways:
- One-on-One Education
- Small Group Instruction
- Educational Support Classes
- Travel / Vacation Classes
- In-Class Sessions for Schools (either here at TECS or at your location TBD by Director / Schedules)
- In-Service / Workshops for Teachers and Other Professionals
Also an Educational Consultant, Barb has a Masters Degree in Special Education, is Certified through the University of Louisville as a Juvenile Sex Offender Counselor and is Certified as a Sexuality Educator through AASECT, the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
Christopher A. Thomas, M.B.A.: A graduate from Xavier University, Christopher been married to Barb for 32 years. He is the new Director of Operations, oversees the new transportation component of TALL and is assisting in teaching classes. Chris has worked with Barb and her students for over 30 years as a volunteer for activities and trips through TECS, Education Center. He is thrilled to be working with Barb to assist students in their Lifelong Learning Classes and Opportunities.
Tena Benson: Tena is the nurse coordinator of the Adult Spina Bifida and Down Syndrome Clinics and the Health and Fitness project in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She has extensive experience working with children and young adults with special health care needs and their families both in the hospital and community. Tena received her Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Michigan and a Master of Public Health at Boston University. She is the parent of a young adult with a developmental disability.
Charlene Boerger: Charlene has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Special Education with 30 plus graduate credit hours. She has been teaching students with developmental challenges for 30 years. Currently, she is teaching a post high school program for students who are motivated to gain greater independence in life and to work competitively.
Don Bogosian: Don is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and lives in Price Hill/Delhi. He has 30 plus years of experience working in a variety of special needs programs in the Cincinnati area.
Jean Browarsky: Jean Browarsky graduated from Bellarmine University in 2006 with a BA in Elementary Education as well as Special Education. She is currently working at Holy Cross Elementary in her third year teaching fifth grade. Outside of school, Jean loves to spend time with her family and friends and is very active in playing sports and exercising. Jean is very excited about teaching for the Tall Institute, and loves the men and women she has met through this exciting opportunity.
Katie Dame: Katie Dame graduated from the College of Mt. St. Joesph in 2006 with a BA in Art Education and a minor in Art History. Katie currently teaches art for two schools in Northern Kentucky, Holy Cross Elementary and St. Thomas Elementary. Outside of work, Katie loves to spend time with her family and friends, and loves the outdoors. Katie is very excited about sharing her passion of art with the men and women at the Tall Institute.
Veronica Meyer: Veronica has been involved in the field of special education for over 18 years. She is currently employed as a Vocational Technician for Warren County MRDD. During her career, Veronica has taught a multitude of employment related courses to adults with special needs. She has also played a valuable role in the process of transitioning these individuals into the workforce.
